Burt P. Flickinger III: Widely known and recognized as a leading expert on all aspects of the supermarket wholesaling and retailing industry, Burt has worked as a consultant for top retail chains around the globe.  His family has been in the wholesale, vertically and horizontally integrated private label production, manufacturing, and branding businesses for four generations since his great grandfather founded S.M. Flickinger Company – the largest supermarket wholesaler/retailer headquartered in the eastern U.S. prior to its acquisition by Metro Haniel Europe, the owner of Scrivner.  The Flickingers and FMI, National Association of Wholesale Grocers (NAWGA), and Food Distribution Institute (FDI) had a partnership across four generations in the horizontal and vertical development of Federated Foods (which the Flickinger family founded) full line private label brands.  Burt, his father, grandfather, and great grandfather worked in partnership with the Fleming, Nash, Finch, Albertsons, and other regional co-op families and corporations.  Prior to founding SRG Consulting, Burt’s extensive career included working for S.M. Flickinger in buying, merchandising, marketing, operations, warehousing, transportation, private label development, and real estate, Procter & Gamble, Glendinning Associates, Interpublic, and serving as Director of Price Waterhouse Coopers/Management Horizons Marketing: Wholesaling, and Retailing Consulting Practice.  For years, Burt was a contributing editor and featured monthly “Flickinger File” columnist for Progressive Grocer.  Also, he was contributing industry editor of both Global Retail Insights and Supermarket Insights.  Burt and the Flickinger family, along with Cornell’s Food Industry Management program and Private Label Magazine, co-published The Future of Private Label in North America.

Ken Teague: Recognized for his expertise in retail strategy, category management and co-marketing, Ken has worked with leading retailers and suppliers across the country.  Ken has built the biggest food retail impact database in the industry and he has conducted leading edge market analyses and assessments across the food retailing industry. Ken is an industry expert on both Walmart and food retailing competitive market expansion analysis.  His expertise in retail technology and marketing/sales analysis has lead to the development of software applications and analytical models for both top retailers and national brand and private label manufacturers.  Prior to teaming with Burt Flickinger at SRG Consulting, Ken headed up retail technology for Glendinning Associates and Reach Marketing and has worked with Mr. Flickinger for over 20 years.

Richard Kochersperger: Richard is an expert on warehousing, transportation and supply chain efficiency to support profitable sales growth strategies.  Richard served until recently as Director of the Academy of Food Marketing at St. Joseph’s University.  FDI (Food Distributors International) commissioned Richard to write its annual U.S. Food Warehousing, Transportation, Supply Chain and Logistics Industry Study.  Richard is a former SuperValu executive and is a consultant to highly profitable, industry leading wholesalers, like Grocers Supply.  He has been instrumental in development of best practices initiatives for leading food wholesalers and national food chains.  Mr. Kochersperger is the author of several books on food logistics, used by the Cornell Distance Learning program, and Mr. Kochersperger led the research, analysis and publication of all the Food Industry Logistics Benchmark Studies for Food Distributors International (FDI).

Henry Mellet: Henry works with SRG on identifying new site plans, mapping, and pricing for strategic defense initiatives.  In addition, his analysis is used by top financial firms to assess the strategic value of real estate in distressed and special situations.  Mr. Mellet is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and has food service and retail operating experience, in addition to his consulting experience.

Cy Mellet: A graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a record of nine years of service as a pilot in the United States Navy, Cy decided to join his brothers at SRG to improve research processes, operations, and business development.  He works with Henry on identifying future Mass Volume Retailer developments and initiatives, and with Lou in researching "best practices" of top national price impact retail purveyors.
