Biggest Retail Crisis in 70 Years Goes from Bad to Worse
As Burt Flickinger discussed during his weekly "Retail Roundup" with Cheryl Casone on MORNINGS with MARIA, the worst economic crisis in 10 years is forcing consumers to choose between heating homes, feeding families and giving giving gifts, while retailers are facing the worst Out-of-Stocks in 70 years. In addition, because inflation is depressing buying power & brand suppliers are reducing discounts, Burt foresees record levels of strikes next year, and substantially more Americans living below the poverty line. He also discussed the trend toward pre-owned products, not only cars but also clothes and other items, and the wisdom of purchasing American-made goods and supporting local retailers who have more merchandise because they buy locally.
