Flickinger Predicts 'Most Problematic Holidays in 47 Years'

On Burt Flickinger's weekly "Retail Roundup" on MORNINGS with MARIA, he discussed the most problematic holiday shopping season in 47 years, going from mediocre to commercially catastrophic with shipping and product shortages to record-breaking heating costs and a doubling of cotton costs since March 2020, driving up the price of T-shirts & jeans, which Levi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh says consumers are willing to pay. Also: Amazon is rolling out Black Friday deals in October in part because of the shipping crisis but also to promote its fashion and handmade lines, and replace trips to shopping centers in every product category.
